A carillon is an instrument containing 23 or more tuned bronze bells.  The sound of a carillon can travel for miles, and they have been used as a mass communication device and collective musical instrument for centuries.

I intended these earthen bells as a physical manifestation of our eroding collective memory, but also as a reminder of the potential for community and collective action.
